Welcome to AFB Pediatrics, where children come first, and where pediatricians and patients work together to provide exceptional medical care for kids in the Pasadena area. We pride ourselves on providing compassionate, comprehensive services to children from birth through adolescence, and we're glad you've chosen us as your child's medical home.

Meet Our Staff

  • Van Truong, MD

    Dr. Truong is a board certified pediatrician. Born and raised in Houston, Dr. Truong completed medical school and pediatric residency training at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. 

  • Ansela Chaluparambil, APRN

    Ansela Chaluparambil is a native born Texan. She received her BSN from Felician College in 2010 and received her MSN for Family Nurse Practitioner.

  • Ana Puga

    Hello!! My name is Ana; I've been working with Dr Bejarano since 2011. I love working with kids and my goal is help them feel better!!. I have two boys of my own and the quality time we get to spend together is priceless.

  • Aldo F. Bejarano, MD

    Dr. Bejarano received his medical degree from Cayetano Heredia University in Lima, Peru. He completed his pediatric residency training at SUNY Health Science Center in Brooklyn, New York.

  • Julie Mathew, APRN

    Julie Mathew is a board certified nurse practitioner. She is a born and bred Texan and grew up in Houston. She completed her Bachelors in Nursing from University of Texas Medical Branch, and her Masters in Nursing at UT Health Science Center at Houston. 

  • Karen Cervantes, APRN

    Karen attended the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston where she earned her Master of Science of Nursing degree.  She is a family nurse practitioner and a board certified advanced practice registered nurse.

  • Idalia Avalos

    Working with Dr Bejarano, has been so far a good experience. I love working with kids and making them feel comfortable. My job is to make sure everybody has a good visit with Us.
